Small Groups and Programs

Small Group Studies are avaiable at various times and locations

Prayer Shawl Ministry "Threads of Love" - meets the 3rd Thursday of each month, 7:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. Anyone who likes to knit or crochet, or would like to learn, is very welcome to come and join us. The ladies of this ministry feel very blessed to be a part of it, as an instrument that God is using in his service.

Summer Music Camp - This annual program is scheduled for one week in July. It is a weeklong day camp where children learn Bible stories through a musical production.

United Methodist Women - All Women of the church and community are invited to join our organization, founded on service and fellowship. Church membership is not a requirement.

Cooking for the Soul - a biannual cooking class offered to women, focusing on healthy, family-friendlly meals.

United Methodist Youth Fellowship (UMYF) - Our youth program provides a time of fellowship, outreach, devotions, and activities. The youth group is open to all youth in grades 6 to 12; church membership is not required. Led by Jamie and Mike Greiner. Youth Snack Supper is served at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, followed by UMYF at 6:30 p.m.

Scout Troop 50 - Boy Scout Troop 50 has been an active part of Christ UMC since 1930. Sposored by the church for over 80 years, the Troop meets every Monday evening at 7:00 p.m. Visitors are always welcome.

Cub Scout Pack 50 - is for boys in the 1st through 5th grades. The Cub Scout Dens meet Mondays during the school year from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the church. Pack meetings are held when called, to recognize advancement and share family fellowship.

Outreach

Habitat for Humanity Apostle Build - Christ Church has participated in each of Habitat for Humanity's Apostle Build projects in Alliance.

Tuesday Free Community Dinners are now held at our church. Churches in our community take turns preparing and serving the meals. We sponsor the Fifth Tuesday meals.]

Community Carnival is held in our west parking lot on a Saturday in early July. It offers free games and food for the community.

Food Pantry - The third Sunday each month is designated as Food Pantry Sunday to support the Salvation Army Food Pantry. Canned goods, paper products, and monetary donations are collected, and volunteers take the donations to the Salvation Army Food Pantry monthly.

Support for Red Bird Mission in Appalachian Kentucky and Beatrice Gbanga, a healthcare missionary in West Africa.

Parish Visitors are those individuals who have volunteered to visit regularly one or more shut-ins or homebound members. These volunteers take the responsibility to be our church's representative to one or more of our homebound friends.

Music Ministry is a special part of Christ Church's worship service. There are four vocal choirs and three handbell ensembles. If you like to sing or play handbells, there is an opportunity waiting for you!
