Meeting Times
The United Methodist Women meet at the church as a unit the first Tuesday of each month, September through June. This is a business meeting, which includes a program, refreshments and social time. The unit is divided into
five circles, two which combined permanently beginning November 2006.
Combining together are Clara Swain Circle/Hazel Spencer Circle. All
circles meet at different times September through June, two on the third Monday of each month and three on the third Tuesday of each month in members' homes or places of interest.
The June Circle meetings are often picnics or dinners.
Purpose
This group is a community of women whose purpose is to know God and experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ, to develop a creative, supportive fellowship and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.
The group supports a number of outreach projects with money, involvement and prayers. These include: Church Women United, Inter-Faith Day Care Center, Alliance Area Domestic Violence Shelter, Alliance Group Home, Family Counseling Service and the Food Pantry.
The United Methodist Women urge all women to read to gather knowledge of themselves to learn how to help others, social concerns and the world outlook. In support of this goal, yearly, they purchase new books for the church library.
