Adult Sunday School Classes
THE SEARCHERS
The new Searchers Class meets weekly in the Dussel Room
on the 1st floor near the kitchen. The former Crusaders Class and the
Voyagers Class joined together the summer of 2009 to form the Searchers Class. Most of us are senior citizens and there is a rich fellowship as we
are caring and supporting of each other in times of joys, problems, illness and
other times of need. We invite you to join us any Sunday and share the
blessing of true Christian fellowship.
On June 26, 2011, the Searchers
honored teacher Jim Williams and his wife
Peg for his decades of service with a thank you luncheon given at the
Alliance Country Club. Jim will end his full-time Sunday school teaching
career in July. Pastor Chris Martin has agreed to lead the class
beginning in September with Jim filling in when required.
THE EXPLORERS
Young adults (single and married)
have moved to the third
floor room across from the choir room, and anyone is welcome to join
them. The group chooses their topic for study. Sheila Gard is their teacher.
FRIENDSHIP II
Our class is an informal gathering of
people of all ages. Our goal is to be a place where friends gather and
strangers are welcome, as we support each other in our common aim to
learn and grow as Christians. We meet in in the Asbury Room, first
floor. Members of the class take turns teaching lessons.
Friendship II class was founded in October, 1974, encouraged by friend
and teacher, James Williams. You are welcome to visit and join Friendship II.

PROTHEONS
The Protheons and Builders Classes
were a couple of the oldest Sunday School Classes. As we each lost members
and neither class had had many members, we joined and became one class. The teachers of both classes took turns teaching the lesson. At that time,
we were interacting with the third and fourth grade Sunday School class. We recognized birthdays and special holidays with small inexpensive gifts, and
they did the same for us. The names, Protheon and Builders, were a bit
much for some of them, so they nicknamed us the B's and P's. That's how we
were known. Since there are no members from the Builder's Class, we are
known as the Protheon Class.
We occasionally go for brunch after
Sunday School and enjoy fellowship. We as a class have grown quite close and
support one another with prayer and being there when needed. |
